Drivers Headed To The Coast Should Expect Delays On Highway 299

Driving to the coast this Summer is taking longer than normal due to Cal-Trans projects. Starting Monday the DRI Whiskey Project on Highway 299 between Shasta & French Gulch will have 24/7 traffic control in effect, which is expected to last through the end of July, with 30 minute delays expected. A 45 MPH speed limit will be in effect. Meanwhile, in Trinity County, there’s an emergency project between Helena & Big Flat.Starting Monday, motorists can anticipate up to 30 minute delays during daytime hours. 24/7 traffic control remains in place, with minimal delays overnights and on weekends.
