Tehama-Glenn Unit Of Cal-Fire Reports No Fireworks Related Fires

Sanity and safety apparently prevailed on the 4th of July for the Tehama-Glenn Unit of Cal-Fire. So-called “Safe and Sane” fireworks are legal south of the Shasta County line, and in previous years Independence day has proven difficult for firefighters chasing down blazes sparked by both legal and illegal fireworks. This year there were many fireworks complaints received, but there were no fireworks-related injuries or fires reported. Cal-Fire and Tehama County Fire Officials give credit to their own extensive patrols and public awareness campaign. They caution, however, that in the past there have been a lot of fires caused after Independence Day by unsupervised children lighting off leftover fireworks that have been improperly stored.
