The Forest Service is expecting to contain a Modoc County fire Thursday. The Goose 2 Fire was discovered Wednesday afternoon on private land within the forest protection area, east of Goose Lake. It grew quickly to 150 acres before local, state and federal firefighters were able to slow it’s spread with the help of multiple aircraft. crews were on scene overnight to be sure that fire lines held.
