Officers with Redding’s Neighborhood Police Unit say a man’s reckless driving drew attention to him Wednesday night. At around 7 O’clock they saw a car that was running red lights, passing other cars illegally and driving in a generally erratic matter. Officers first saw the car at Cypress and Churn Creek, but because of his wild driving they weren’t able to catch up to it until they reached Victor Avenue south of Old Alturas Road. A high risk stop was done as officers ordered the driver out, but 48-year-old Edward Allen apparently refused to budge. They could see he was upset and acting suspiciously. After being hailed multiple times Allen finally got out. Officers reported finding Methamphetamine in the car and they determined that Allen was under the influence of drugs. He was arrested on several charges.
