Firefighters extinguished some small vegetation fires just west of I-5 south of Knighton Road Thursday morning. The fires were between the freeway and Riverland Drive near an RV park. No structures were damaged and the total burned area was about an acre. Southbound I-5 traffic was slowed as smoke drifted across the freeway.
