Sex Offender Who Cut Off Ankle Monitor Sentenced To 8 Years

A sex offender who failed to register and was later found in a Downtown Redding motel room with a large amount of Heroin has been sentenced. 48-year-old Robert Michael Rodeski was sentenced to prison in 2009 for lewd or lascivious acts by force or fear against a child under 14 years old. Rodeski was paroled in April of last year and required to wear a GPS ankle monitor. By November he had removed the monitor, had not registered as a sex offender, and his whereabouts were unknown. The Neighborhood Police Unit and Shasta Interagency Narcotics Task Force located Rodeski in February at the Stardust Motel on Pine Street. A search of his room turned up a pound and a half of Methamphetamine and 15 grams of Heroin. Rodeski admitted he had cut off his ankle monitor and had been staying in the Redding area for a long time. He’s been sentenced to 8 years 4 months in state prison.
