Attorney: County On The Hook For 800K In Attorney Fees For Sexual Harassment Case

A recent federal jury award of more than $600,000 against Shasta County for a sexual harassment case may be just the tip of the iceberg, according to the attorney who represents the plaintiff. On August 6th a Sacramento jury decided in favor of former Deputy Jaime Schmidt alleging she faced retaliation after accusing former Shasta County Marshal’s Sergeant Joel Dean of creating a hostile work environment in 2011 and 2012. Attorney Tony Poidmore says Shasta County is also on the hook for up to $800,000 in attorney’s fees.
