Traffic Moving After Big Rills Spills Load Of Paper On I-5

Southbound Interstate Five at Anderson was closed almost all night. At 11:20PM Wednesday night a big rig overturned and spilled 40 tons of printer paper all over the freeway. The driver was not injured in the crash, which happened near the North Street exit. All southbound traffic was routed off the freeway at Riverside Drive and directed to Highway 273 to continue through Anderson and rejoin the freeway south of the outlets. Apparently there was difficulty in getting a heavy duty tow that could handle the engineering job of clearing the tractor-trailer from the lanes. One lane opened at about 5:40AM and the other lane opened just before 9AM.
