34 Arrested During Sweep Of Homeless Camps

Dozens of arrests were made as Anderson Police did a sweep of homeless camps early Friday and Saturday mornings. Officers raided camps on both public and private property, and especially targeted camps that were set up near waterways. Assisted by Anderson Fire, Code Enforcement, and Shasta County Probation, the APD arrested 34 people in 20 different camps. Charges included illegal camping, trespassing, water pollution, drugs, outstanding warrants and parole and probation violations.
