The Mountain Fire has been officially defeated. The blaze that started near Jones Valley and spread toward Bella Vista at around 11AM on Thursday was held to 600 acres, and it’s now 100% containment. Seven homes were destroyed, and 5 others damaged. Seven outbuildings were also destroyed. There were 3 minor injuries. Firefighters will continue to patrol for smoldering material over the next several days. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. All evacuations and road closures are lifted.
