Alleged DUI Driver Looses Front Wheel After Crashing Into Parked Vehicles

A hit-and-run driver in Corning overnight didn’t get far after losing one of his wheels during the collision. A little after Midnight Corning Police were called to Houghton Avenue. 21-year-old Daniel Marin of Corning had apparently crashed his Ford Explorer into two parked cars, causing major damage to all three vehicles, and then tried to make his getaway on only three wheels. His entire right front wheel was still at the crash scene. He and his SUV were about two blocks away. Marin was tested for DUI, showing a .20% blood alcohol content. Officers say a search of the explorer revealed a loaded 357 magnum revolver that had been reported stolen. Marin was booked into jail on several charges.
