The name has not yet been released of a Canadian motorcyclist who was killed in a head-on crash west of Redding Saturday afternoon. At around 1:40PM, the 51-year-old man from Alberta, Canada was riding a 2009 Harley Davidson Road King westbound, going up the hill on Highway 299 approaching Buckhorn Summit. He lost control on a sharp curve and crossed over the double yellow centerline, directly into the path of an eastbound Mazda pickup driven by 29-year-old Saskia Whitson of Eugene, Oregon. She sustained minor injuries from the collision. The motorcyclist was declared dead at the scene.
