Carr Fire Mural Project Will Not Appear At Cascade Theatre

A plan that was in the works for a Carr Fire mural on the north exterior wall of the Cascade Theater has apparently fallen apart. The Cascade Theatre had been planning some sort of mural for the wall as part of the state-designated Redding Cultural District, and a collaboration was developing with the Carr Fire mural project, but disagreement over some themes have led the Cascade Theatre to release a statement saying the Carr Fire mural will be done elsewhere and the theater has now announced its official support and collaboration with the newly-formed Cascade Community Project Committee, which will create a “Socially and culturally inclusive piece of art that is a celebration of place and community vitality.”
