Two Arrested, Citations Issued At Illegal Marijuana Grows

A series of cannabis raids by State Fish and Wildlife Officers was done the last week of August near sensitive wildlife habitat in Shasta and Trinity Counties. Seven search warrants were served in Trinity County, where 27 suspects were contacted, 16 fish and game violations were found, 33,783 growing marijuana plants were pulled and more than 3,000 pounds of processed bud was seized. In Shasta County, a raid was done on growers who were trespassing on a piece of private property near Ono. 1,163 growing marijuana plants were eradicated and six environmental violations were found. Two arrests were made there. Violations at the various grow sites included water diversions, habitat destruction and pollution near waterways.
