Crews battled two fires Tuesday in Eastern Shasta County. The Cow Fire was reported on Whitmore Road near the Cow Creek Ranch at about 9AM. It was apparently sparked by a vehicle dragging a chain. It eventually burned nearly 16 acres and was declared fully contained just before 3PM. A 2nd small fire was reported later in the afternoon near the Kilarc Reservoir near Whitmore. That fire was contained at about a 1/4 acre, and was human caused. Crews are facing a 3rd day of red flag fire conditions and are urging the public to be extra cautious. A red flag warning is in effect through Wednesday evening at 7PM.
