A man with multiple warrants was convinced to surrender by a Redding Police K9. At 7:26PM Wednesday night members of the neighborhood police unit were patrolling the Hilltop Drive area and observed two suspicious men in the parking lot of the Quality Inn. Once the men saw officers they fled on foot. 40-year-old Ricky Manual Jaramillo of Redding was quickly apprehended, but 41-year-old Jarrod Christopher Skinner apparently fled into a hotel room where he tried to hide. Officers surrounded the room and attempted to negotiate with Skinner who was wanted on multiple warrants. After about 20 minutes officers requested Hank the K9’s assistance. Skinner apparently heard the dog barking and quickly surrendered. Skinner was booked into Shasta County Jail, while Jaramillo was booked on a probation violation.
