Tehama County Sheriff’s Detectives are trying to determine a motive after arresting a Lake California resident for attempted murder. Deputies rushed to the South Cottonwood gated community at 9:36PM Sunday night after callers reported shots fired on Prospect Peak Court. When they arrived, 34-year-old Eric Allan Brown told them that his neighbor, 48-year-old Jay Wilbure Kitchen, was trying to kill him. There were multiple bullet holes in Brown’s vehicle and on the exterior of his house, as well as bullets fired within Brown’s house. Nobody was struck by any of the rounds. A search was done of Kitchen’s house and multiple firearms were seized. Kitchen is being held on One Million Dollars bail.
