Teens Back In Custody After Breaking Out Of Juvenile Hall

A pair of boys escaped from Shasta County Juvenile Hall Thursday and then later committed a home invasion robbery, according to Redding Police. The 16-year-old and 17-year-old made their escape at around 11:15AM Thursday morning. At 4:30PM in the afternoon a man called 9-1-1 saying his wife had called him from their home on Cedars Road, whispering that she hiding in the back of the house with their children. The man was rushing home from work as officers headed to the scene. They intercepted the two boys wearing hooded sweatshirts as they were walking away. They tried to run but officers caught them after a foot chase. The woman said they had knocked on her front door, then forced their way inside where they took a cell phone from one of her children and started demanding food and clothing. She convinced them to let her check on her children, which is when she contacted her husband. The boys are back in juvenile hall, charged with home invasion robbery and resisting arrest.
