Police K9 Tracks Down Domestic Violence Suspect

Redding Police chased down a man Sunday night who had allegedly terrorized an ex-girlfriend. The woman called RPD at 5 O’clock Sunday afternoon, saying she had previously dated 47-year-old Bill Webb. Over the past couple of days he has reportedly assaulted her multiple times and forced her to go with him to various places while refusing to let her leave him. She eventually escaped, and accused Webb of stealing her Ford Mustang. Just before 8PM officers went to Webb’s home in the Beltline Road area. Webb apparently saw them coming and took off in the Mustang. After short chase, the car was abandoned near Redwood Boulevard and Eagle Nest Road. A perimeter was set up and officers searched for more than an hour with help from two K9s and a CHP helicopter. Dozer the K9 finally found Webb hiding in a pile of scrap wood on White River Way. He fought with the dog and the officers as he was taken into custody. After a trip to the hospital, Webb was booked into jail on several felony charges
