Redding Police broke up a gathering in downtown Redding Monday morning. Officer Berg dispersed a large group of people congregating in the lot owned by Union Pacific Railroad, at the corner of Yuba and Oregon Streets, an area that’s long been a problem. With the recent addition of community service officers, patrol officers have been more readily available to address these issues on a more consistent basis. With the assistance of the Redding Police Community Work Program, several hundred pounds of trash was cleaned out of the area.
