14K Worth Of Tools Stolen From Anderson Ace Hardware

A group of burglars pulled a smash and grab at the Ace Hardware in Anderson. Information has just been released by Anderson Police about the incident, though it happened a week and a half ago, on Saturday October 5th at 4:07AM. APD responded to an alarm at the hardware store, located off Highway 273 at Marx Way. They arrived quickly and found the glass front door shattered, but the thieves were already gone. In surveillance video, a van can be seen backing up to the entrance before someone gets out and breaks out the glass door with bolt cutters. Three more people then rush into the building and start loading up power tools. They were all wearing hooded sweatshirts to conceal their faces. The van is a newer model with dark colored paint, tinted windows and silver rims. The thieves got away with 2 Bosch electric breaker hammers, a Hilti concrete saw, 5 Stihl brand leaf blowers, 12 Stihl chainsaws, and a Stihl cutoff saw. The total value is around $14,000.
