Trinity County Deputies Seek Leads After Marijuana Farm Robbery

A group of robbers hit a legally licensed marijuana farm in Trinity County last week. At around 12:30AM Friday morning the suspects, described as one white man and about 10 black men, forced their way into a house in the Douglas City area. Several of them had guns, which they used to strike the two people who were staying there to tend the plants. The victims were bound with duct tape as the robbers stole a large quantity of marijuana that had been hung up to dry. The robbers all wore gloves and ski masks and they may have been driving a dark Ford pickup hauling a cargo trailer, as well as a newer model dark colored Toyota sedan. It took hours for the caretakers to free themselves from the duct tape. When they finally got loose they both went to their homes in another county and later contacted the owner of the farm, who called 9-1-1. The Trinity County Sheriff’s Office was told of the robbery at 10:30AM Friday morning and they began their investigation. Some DNA evidence has been found, and it was sent to the State Department of Justice Lab for processing
