PG&E May Restore Power Wednesday Afternoon

PG&E has begun shutting off the power in phases Tuesday to nearly 600,000 customers, starting with the northernmost affected counties of Shasta, Trinity, Tehama, Butte and Plumas, all at 5AM. Parts of the rest of the 37 counties will be shut off throughout the course of the day. It should be restored around midday Wednesday. About 27,000 Shasta County customers are shut off. Many of them didn’t even get a restoration of power between the shutoffs. PG&E says its crews found more than 50 instances of weather-related damage that could have started fires during the most recent shutoff.
