A house was destroyed by fire overnight in the Palo Cedro area. Cal-Fire, Shasta County Fire and Millville Firefighters responded at 1:20AM to the home on Sandpointe Drive off Logan Road north of Old 44 Drive. The house was fully involved and a couple of acres were burning, according to Cal-Fire Battalion Chief Troy Valeen. Apparently the two residents had been cooking outside because of the power outage. The vegetation fire was held to four acres. Nobody was injured.
