A man has been shot by Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Deputies, but he’s expected to survive, according to the Siskiyou Daily News. At around 10:30AM Tuesday morning a man called 9-1-1 from Douglas Lane in the Mount Shasta area to say his adult son was acting strangely and may have been experiencing a mental health episode. Sheriff Jon Lopey says the man was armed with several large knives and assaulted one or more of the deputies despite their efforts to de-escalate the situation. Multiple deputies shot the man, who was transported to Mercy Mount Shasta with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening. A multi-agency investigation is being led by the Yreka Police Department.
