Republican Megan Dahle will be taking the State Assembly seat vacated by her husband, State Senator Brian Dahle. As of Midnight, Democrat Elizabeth Betancourt had received 42% of the votes to Dahle’s 58%, a gap of about 13,000. The vast First Assembly District stretches from just north of Sacramento all the way to the Oregon border. The only county where Bettencourt took more votes than Dahle was Nevada County. Throughout the district, registered Republicans outnumber Democrats by a nearly 2 to 1 margin.
