There’s been another assault at a local group home. On Wednesday evening at about 8:30PM, Shasta County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a group home on Kings Way, off of Bear Mountain Road. A thirteen-year-old girl was reported to be attacking staff members at the Victor Treatment Center facility. Arriving deputies detained the girl and began investigating. She’d been arguing with her roommate, then attacked three staff members who tried to break it up. She settled down after being told that charges would be filed. One staff member suffered injuries bad enough that a trip to a hospital for evaluation was necessary. The teenager was arrested and booked into Shasta County Juvenile Hall on a charge of battery with serious bodily injury, which is a felony. Two additional charges of battery will be filed later. The case has been forwarded to the Shasta County Juvenile Probation Department. This is the third recent attack at a local Victor facility. In early October, a 17-year-old boy was accused of attacking a female staff member, leaving her badly-beaten, partially-clothed body outside overnight. The same week, 3 boys at another home were booked for assault with a deadly weapon in an attack on another staff member.
