Update: 43 Arrested During Multi-Agency Sweep

An all-day multi-agency criminal sweep was done Tuesday around various trouble spots in Redding, resulting in 43 arrests, 29 citations and the removal of more than 8,000 pounds of trash. Areas covered by the sweep included Downtown, Hilltop Drive, Henderson Open Space, Redding Library, the parks, and the Sacramento River Trail. RPD was assisted by county and state agencies, with the team consisting of 31 officers from various law enforcement agencies, along with 30 inmates in 3 cleanup crews, which gathered several tons of waste primarily in the Henderson Open Space and under the Cypress Bridge. Hill Country Health and Wellness Center was on hand to provide assistance to those in need of mental health services. Good News Rescue Mission also accompanied the team to offer their services.
