Cal-Fire Plans 300 Acre Prescribed Burn For Friday

Some smoke may be visible on Friday, as Cal-Fire conducts a vegetation management burn, weather permitting. The prescribed burn will be in the area of the West Central Landfill at 14095 Clear Creek Road. As much as 300 acres will be torched to reduce the fire hazard to the landfill and get rid of weeds. In addition, it will provide live fire training for firefighters. Winds on Friday are forecast to be from the northwest. Fire officials don’t expect the burn to produce a lot of smoke, but some will be visible, especially in the areas of Igo, Happy Valley and Cottonwood.
