Several fires broke out overnight in the Lake Shasta area. Shasta-Trinity National Forest officials located four separate fires at 3:17AM in the Gilman Road/Hirz Bay area. Forest Service officials say the total area of the fires burned five acres. The forward rate of spread has been halted. The cause is not known.
