Burglary Suspect Arrested In Weed

A man on probation out of Sacramento County has been arrested for a burglary committed in the Weed area. Siskiyou County Deputies were called Saturday morning to a home off Alves Road after a neighbor noticed mail from the home scattered nearby. The house had been ransacked and burglarized. A car was found disabled nearby that was believed to be linked to the burglary. That led deputies to search for a suspect in the Yreka area and 27-year-old Lamont Darnell Brown was detained. A search of him and his motel room reportedly revealed items taken from the house in Weed. Brown was booked into jail and during the booking process, Methadone pills were reportedly found during a body cavity search.
