CHP Seeks Driver Of Van Who Hit Boy Riding Bicycle

The CHP is looking for a hit-and-run driver who hit a boy on a bicycle in Weaverville. Monday afternoon the 12-year-old boy was riding east on Washington Street along a line of parked cars when a tan minvan backed out of one of the parking stalls. The van struck the boy on the bike, knocking him to the ground. The van then headed west on Washington Street. The boy was treated for minor cuts and scrapes. He described the vehicle as a tan minvan that was dirty and had tinted windows. The bicycle was damaged, but it’s not clear what sort of damage the van would have.
