Officers Searching For Hit-And-Run Driver Who Injured Pedestrian

A woman was seriously injured by a hit-and-run driver in West Redding Sunday night. Redding Police were called at around 8 O’clock to Placer at Magnolia. 59-year-old Melissa Joyce Brown had a broken lower leg. She said she was pushing a shopping cart into the street when a car hit the cart, which spun around and hit her leg. The car that hit her then fled westbound on Placer. She could only describe it as a white sedan and she did not see the driver. There were apparently no other witnesses. Brown was taken to Mercy Medical Center to be treated.
