Man Wanted After Shots Are Fired At Montgomery Creek Store

A Montgomery Creek man is wanted by the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office after apparently being caught on surveillance shooting at another man. Deputies were called at 8:45PM Wednesday evening to the Montgomery Creek Store. The incident had happened a half hour earlier and nobody was there when deputies arrived, but they tracked down the victim, 28-year-old Matreyo Mastrangelo-Mitchell. A review of footage from the store showed Mitchell sitting in his car in the parking lot when another car pulled up. A man believed to be 24-year-old Shane Montgomery got out with a long gun in his hand. As Mitchell quickly drove away, the gunman fired a single shot. Mitchell was not struck. Shane Montgomery could not be found. He’s believed to be armed and dangerous. His photo is on the KQMS Facebook page.
