Redding’s Christmas Tree Will Be Lit During “Winterfest” Friday Evening

Redding’s Downtown Christmas Tree is back at its original location at Yuba and Market Streets, where it was for decades before finding a home in the middle of the California Street parking structure. That parking lot is being demolished to make way for a $67 Million development, so the tree is back at the previous location, which is now the Downtown Promenade. It’ll be lit during a celebration Friday evening. Redding Winterfest will be from 5PM to 7PM, with most of the festivities taking place inside the Atrium at the south end of the Promenade. The free event will feature carolers, music and dance performances, raffles, and free visits with Santa Claus. Saturday night is the Downtown Lighted Christmas Parade, which begins at 6PM regardless of the weather.
