A masked gunmen robbed a local store Sunday morning, and the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office is looking for help finding him. About 9AM, SHASCOM got a call from a store employee at the Midway Market stating that a man had just robbed the store at gunpoint. According to the clerk, the suspect had just left the store and walked away. The market is located at 7200 Highway 273 between Redding and Anderson. Deputies arrived at the market a few minutes later and began searching the area utilizing a sheriff’s office K9 and a CHP helicopter. In spite of an extensive search, the suspect was not found. He’s described as a white man in his 20’s, 5 Foot 8 to 5 Foot 10, wearing a bandana over his face. The clerk said he came into the store holding a pistol, and told the clerk to give him the money from the register. The clerk complied and the suspect left with an undisclosed amount of cash.
