Woman Pleads Not Guilty To Murdering Her Husband

A Hayfork woman accused of killing her husband has entered a plea of not guilty. The Trinity Journal reports that 47-year-old Kay Chue Vang is also charged with the special allegation that she used a gun. Last Wednesday around 2AM, Trinity County Sheriff’s Deputies and medical personnel responded after a 9-1-1 call stating someone had been shot. 48-year-old Billy Vang was found deceased. The weapon, a Ruger automatic pistol, was turned over to deputies by an unnamed family member at the house, who said that the couple had been arguing and Kay Vang said Billy had tried to kill her, so she shot him twice. She then reportedly put the gun to her head, threatening to pull the trigger. The family member was able to get the gun away from her and unload it before giving it to deputies. Kay Chue Vang will return to court on January 15th for a preliminary hearing. She is currently being held in Trinity County Jail on no bail.
