Update: Warrant Issued Man Accused Of Botched Robbery Attempt

Redding Police say they know the identity of a man who tried to rob a North Redding convenience store Thursday morning, but failed because the cashier decided not to participate. Just after 7AM Redding Police were called to the AM/PM at Lake Boulevard and Masonic. A man had walked into the store and brandished a pistol, but the employee didn’t give him anything and he left empty-handed in a 2001 dark colored Dodge SUV. Witnesses were able to give the RPD a license plate number and a “be on the lookout” was sent out to other law enforcement agencies. Friday morning police in the Bay Area City of Pittsburg found the vehicle with a loaded handgun inside. A felony arrest warrant for robbery has now been issued for 23-year-old Forrest Lee Hahlbeck of Martinez.
