The discovery of a dead man east of Weed is being investigated as a suspicious death. Thursday morning the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Department was called to a location near Military Pass Road a couple of miles south of Highway 97 and just east of the Andesite Railroad Crossing. A dead man was lying on his back. A train had stopped as well because of the proximity to the tracks. The man had identification on him showing he was from somewhere out of the county. An autopsy will be done in the next few days.
