Survey Shows Californian’s Support Third Political Party

A new survey says that about half of Californians think it’s time for a third political party. A recent survey by the Public Policy Institute of California shows that 46 percent of likely voters report a favorable impression of the Democratic Party and 34 percent have a favorable impression of the Republican Party. Just one in three adults think that the two major parties do an adequate job representing the American people. About half or more feel a third major party is needed, with Independents and those earning over $40,000 annually most likely to hold this view. While 48 percent of Republicans and 54 percent of Democrats surveyed are happy with the current 2-party system, 62 percent of those identified as Independents say there should be another political party.
