Redding Police have arrested a man who was using a garden tool to break windows Thursday morning. About 5:45AM, officers responded to the 3600 block of Magnums Way. They say that 36-year-old Allen Silva had used a shovel to smash out the front window of a residence and then tried to rob a woman who lived there of her cell phone and vehicle keys. The victim was able to run back inside and call 9-1-1. Silva then reportedly turned and started hitting her vehicle’s windows with the shovel. Silva, who’s on parole, reportedly admitted to being under the influence of Methamphetamine. He was booked for attempted robbery, vandalism and violation of parole.
