Investigation Shows Veterinarian Dies After Accidental Gunshot

The death of a popular veterinarian in Siskiyou County has been ruled accidental. 31 year old Dakota Woodard was found dead last Friday in Dorris. Sheriff’s officials think he fell from a haystack on a farm where he volunteered, and had been holding a shotgun, which accidentally discharged. Woodard was the only veterinarian who worked for SNIP, a low cost spay and neuter program. He was well known in the community for his work with animals and a page to post condolences has been set up at forevermissed.com.
