Local Public Safety Officials Hosting Town Hall On Proposed Sales Tax Increase

A town hall meeting will be held Monday night to lay out exactly what the benefits would be from a public safety sales tax in Shasta County. On March 3rd voters will decide whether to impose a 1% sales tax to fund local law enforcement and, to a small degree, firefighting. Speakers will include the Sheriff, the Redding and Anderson Police Chiefs, the District Attorney, the Chief Probation Officer and the head public defender. The meeting will be Monday night at 6:30PM at the Church of Nazarene on Bechelli Lane where the giant flag is located.
