Meeting Will Showcase Proposed “Boomtown Center” In Shasta Lake

An environmentally-friendly mixed-use development could be in the future of the City of Shasta Lake. The city and K-2 Development are applying for funding from round 5 of the State of California “Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities Program”. “Boomtown Center” would include 49, 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartment units along Shasta Dam Boulevard and Median Avenue and as much as 10,000 square feet of retail space. Many other improvements, such as benches, sidewalks, walking trails, sitting areas and landscaping are in the plan. Through a combination of energy-efficiency and solar panels, the apartments would be “net zero energy”. Anyone who’d like to see the plans is invited to the Shasta Lake Community Center on Main Street Tuesday evening from 6PM to 7:30PM.
