UPS Driver Saves Load Of Packages From Truck Fire

A UPS big rig caught fire Tuesday night in Corning. The tractor-trailer was on Southbound Interstate Five a little south of Liberal Avenue at 9:25PM when the brakes caught fire. The driver managed to get the trailer disconnected and apparently saved the load of packages, but the truck tires and brakes continued to burn until firefighters arrived. The slow lane was closed for a couple of hours.
