An RPD K9 tracked down a hit-and-run suspect in South Redding Monday afternoon. The crash happened a little before 5 O’clock near Cedars and Westside Roads. One of the drivers ran away toward the Shady Oaks Trailer Park. A perimeter was set up by officers and a CHP helicopter came to help. Chase the K9 led officers directly to some bushes near the trailer park and 27-year-old Orlando Javier Ramos of Sacramento immediately surrendered. He said he was on probation and ran because he didn’t want to go to jail, but gave up to avoid being bitten.
