18 Arrested, Drugs Seized During Sweep In Anderson

A sweep through the Anderson area has resulted in the arrests of 18 people. On Tuesday, a probation and parole compliance operation was conducted by Anderson’s Problem Oriented Policing Unit, the Shasta County Sheriffs Office, Probation Department, Shasta Inter-Agency Narcotics Task Force, and state parole agents. Over 50 people were contacted and 18 were arrested, 9 on warrants and 9 on fresh charges. The fresh charges included felons being in possession of guns and ammunition, drug possession, possession for sales, drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, possession of stolen property and probation violations. Seizures included two firearms, about a pound of methamphetamine, and approximately a half pound of heroin.
