Cal-Trans Expects To Reopen Highway 96 Thursday

A highway in Siskiyou County that’s been closed for a few weeks is reopening. Highway 96 has been closed about 4 miles west of Happy Camp since January 13th, when rainy weather caused a massive amount of rocks and mud to slide off the mountainside onto the roadway. More storms then added snow and more debris to an already overloaded area. Crews have been hauling away massive loads of material and they expect to reopen the highway sometime Thursday.
