Mexican National Sentenced To 9 Years In Federal Prison

A Mexican citizen in Tehama County has been sentenced for conspiracy to distribute Methamphetamine. 55 year-old Miguel Alvarez Cervantes of Los Molinos was sentenced Thursday to nine years in federal prison after pleading guilty last July to distributing around 60 pounds of Meth and 3 pounds of Heroin in Tehama County. The U.S. Attorney’s Office says Maria Cervantes-Echevarria and Marta Lopez used their Los Molinos home as a stash location for drugs, guns and cash, while Miguel Cervantes served as the delivery man. He sold more than 3 pounds of Meth to an undercover agent with Tehama Interagency Drug Enforcement during three buys. Another 22 pounds was delivered inside a spare tire a few months later. After the final meeting with the agent at the Red Bluff McDonald’s, a search warrant was served at the home in Los Molinos, where agents found an additional 34 pounds of Meth, 3 pounds of Heroin, three handguns, an AR-15 rifle and $44,000. Cervantes-Echevarria and Lopez previously pleaded guilty and are scheduled to be sentenced next month.
