Crews Will Be Burning Near Lake Shasta This Week

Controlled burning is set for the Lakehead area this week. The Forest Service is working on fuel reduction that has been ongoing for a decade combining prescribed burning, hand thinning and machine chipping. 400 to 450 acres may be torched as part of the 300 acre project on the south side of the Doney Creek Inlet of Lake Shasta. The burn will depend on the weather.
